Our ethanol production process provides many environmentally friendly products and benefits.

Firstly we have created Amaizeingly Green, a 100% natural corn gluten meal fertilizer. Normal chemical fertilizers release nitrogen into the air during spray application which contributes to green house gases. In stark contrast corn gluten meal fertilizer does not. Rather, Amaizeingly Green contains no harmful chemicals or toxins.

Ethanol itself is also an environmentally friendly product which helps vehicles produce:

• Lower carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide emissions

• Fewer evaporative emissions because they have fewer highly volatile components.

• The same or lower levels of hydrocarbon and non-methane hydrocarbon emissions.

Unlike other plants or processes, there is no waste that gets sent to the landfill. 100% of corn materials are used in the ethanol and co-product creation process.

The 54 million litres produced from the ethanol plant translates to the elimination of 140,000 tonnes of GHG emissions per year or the equivalent of removing 30,000 cars from Ontario’s roads.

Collingwood Ethanol has undergone a rigorous Environmental Assessment conducted by Natural Resources Canada, Health Canada and Environment Canada. We have taken the appropriate steps to ensure that the facility's operation will not harm the surrounding environment
